MARC Download Preferences / Integration Overview

The MARC Download Preferences (or Integration / MARC Preferences) section of the Administration menu provides options to configure your sources of MARC Records, and configure mapping, and repeatability options for the 945 and other MARC Record tags.  For libraries that have integrated OSA and Library•Solution, PAC Synchronization options are available.

PAC Synchronization Defaults

 

FOR LS2 5.x Users, Timing Options is the only setting you need to complete.  Decide when you want to display selection items in the PAC.

FOR LS2 4.x users, there are three categorized settings available on the PAC Synchronization dialog and two general settings:

  • Timing Options - Select the Timing setting for when to display items in the PAC.

  • Match / Merge - Select the Match / Merge settings for questionable record matches in the database.

  • Authority Control - Choose whether to perform Authority Control, or create Authority Records for invalid headings.

Select the check boxes if you want to retain order information (945 fields) in MARC records and/or allow holds.

 

View PAC Synchronization Log

 

Electronic Ordering transactions may generate errors during the file transfer process (FTP).  This topic will help you to view the log entries that are recorded in the Electronic Ordering Error Log.

 

View Queued Holds

 

View the list of items in the queue.  Search by All Holds, Borrower Barcode, Item number, ISBN, UPC, and Title.

 

View Holds Log

 

View the list of items that have holds placed on them from OSA.  Users can search for All Holds, for a specific Borrower's hold by Borrower Barcode, or for a specific item by Item Number.

 

MARC Field Configuration

 

Configure field mapping, and repeatability options for the 945 Tag.

 

Preferred MARC Record Sources

 

Add, Update, and Delete MARC Source Profile (the lists of databases you want to search) configurations, and the MARC Source(s) (configure the database(s).  Also set the default MARC Profile.
